Introducing Flight Sync: Connect your fleet directly to FlybyOps

Flight Sync makes it possible for operators to capture all that lovely flight activity, telemetry and real-time flight data without relying on manually uploading flight logs after every single mission.

We've just rolled out Flight Sync, a brand new FlybyOps capability that lets you plug your drones and flight controllers straight into the FlybyOps platform - no more fuss, no more delays.

Flight Sync makes it possible for operators to capture all that lovely flight activity, telemetry and real-time flight data without relying on pilots to faff about creating and updating flight logs after every single mission.

For big organisations with drone fleets operating in far-flung locations, particularly on those ones where you're flying Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS), remotely or autonomously, this gives you a much more accurate picture of what's going on across the whole fleet.

From aircraft to FlybyOps - no need to lift a finger

With Flight Sync, supported drones and controllers can just send their flight data straight back to FlybyOps and that's it.

Once connected up, FlybyOps can use this data to provide:

  • Automatic flight logs - no more tedious manual data entry\
  • Full flight telemetry - getting a detailed record of every operation\
  • Live flight tracking - operational teams can see where all the active flights are\
  • Aircraft activity history - tying flights and telemetry back to the aircraft and operation\
  • Centralised operational records - keeping flight data alongside pilots, equipment, missions, incidents and compliance records all in one place

No more hunting down flight information across loads of different controllers, manufacturer platforms and manually kept records - Flight Sync brings it all into the same operational environment where you manage your whole drone programme.

Built for organisations with scale

Manual flight logging might be manageable when you're running a handful of flights a week.

But when your organisation is carrying out hundreds or thousands of operations across multiple aircraft, pilots and locations, it becomes a whole lot more complicated.

And then you throw in BVLOS and remotely operated fleets where the person overseeing an operation can be hundreds of miles away from the actual aircraft.

Flight Sync lets FlybyOps grab operational data directly from the source, helping organisations keep consistent and accurate flight records while freeing up pilots and operational teams from loads of tedious admin work.

Live visibility across your drone programme

Flight Sync isn't just about what happened after a flight - it's about giving operational teams live visibility into all the aircraft currently flying within their organisation.

Paired up with FlybyOps mission, personnel and equipment data, this creates a central operational view where teams can see what's flying, where it's flying, who or what is responsible for the operation, and the mission associated with it.

For organisations setting up remote ops centres or managing big, geographically spread out fleets, that level of visibility is going to be crucial.

Turning tonnes of telemetry data into actual records

Flight telemetry isn't just about nice to know - it's also about turning it into an actual operational record.

By tying flight data into the wider FlybyOps operational environment, telemetry can form part of the long-term record for an aircraft and its operations.

This gives you the foundation for deeper fleet insights, operational analysis and increasingly automated compliance workflows as your drone programme grows.

Taking another step towards fully connected drone ops

We built FlybyOps with the idea that the next gen of drone operations will need significantly more automation.

Aircraft are getting more autonomous, operations are getting more remote, fleets are getting bigger - and the systems supporting those ops need to evolve to match.

Getting Up and Running with FlybyOps Flight Sync

To link up your DJI aircraft with FlybyOps - its a pretty straightforward process

  1. Open app.flybyops.com/connect in your dji controller through the cloud connect app (comes with dji)
  2. Select dji
  3. Login using your FbO credentials and select workspace
  4. Click connect

Once you're all connected you'll see a little tick that lets you know that Flight Sync is good to go.

And that's it. You're now free to take to the skies.

Your flight activity will now automatically sync up with FlybyOps, creating a neat record of each flight and capturing all the relevant data along the way. No need to manually log each flight - it all happens automatically.

Flight Sync is another step towards making FlybyOps the operational layer that ties aircraft, people, missions and compliance all together across the whole of enterprise drone operations.
