Registering the operator instead of each aircraft. Canada registers the drone, not the person or company. Every airframe over 250 grams needs its own registration and its own number, so a fleet cannot ride on a single registration the way an operator-based system would allow.
Confusing registration with the pilot certificate. These are two separate requirements, and you need both. A registered drone flown by an uncertified pilot, or a certified pilot flying an unregistered drone, still breaches the rules and can draw a fine.
